Enterprise Zone

A variety of state and local incentives are available in the Decatur Enterprise Zone including local property tax abatement for eligible projects. The Decatur Macon County Enterprise Zone was renewed in July 2003 and is currently due to expire on July 1, 2013.

Sales tax exemptions on construction materials may be available for eligible projects located within the boundaries of the zone. Approval for the exemption is granted by the EDC Zone Administrator after submissison of the following certification form. All forms must be completed in full and must be accompanied by an approved building permit application issued by the City of Decatur or other recognized body and payment of applicable fees.

Companies who are located within the boundaries of the Decatur Enterprise Zone are entitled to an exemption on the state sales tax for wheeled natural gas transactions. The following form is required in order to claim the exemption.
